Chainsaws

Why were chainsaws invented?

The chainsaw was originally invented to aid in childbirth - yes, you read that correctly.

Before the advent of the caesarian section, all fetuses had to pass through the birth canal.

Babies can become stuck if they are too large or in a breech position, which is when they lie feet in the womb instead of head first.

Back in the 18th century, if a baby couldn't fit through or became stuck in the pelvis, parts of bone and cartilage were removed to create space, a procedure known medically as a "symphysiotomy."

Without anesthetic, this painful and dirty surgery was done by hand with a tiny knife and saw to remove the bone.

Chainsaw used today

A chainsaw is a portable saw that uses “teeth” that run in a circular motion around a guide bar to cut through wood or wooden objects. The "teeth" of a chainsaw blade are actually metal chains with notches or grooves at regular intervals that allow it to cut through even the hardest types of wood with ease. The velocity at which the blade maneuvers in a circle with the help of a guide bar is determined by a couple of elements, one of which is the horsepower of your chainsaw and the speed at which your chainsaw engine is responsible.

A decent chainsaw may be used for a range of tasks, including landscaping trees and foliage, cutting life-saving firebreaks in densely forested areas, and even ice sculpting in the winter!

It is critical to use extreme caution using a chainsaw for any purposes, as the blade of the saw is powerful enough to cut through human skin, muscle, and bone while in use.

You can also buy pants and jackets that are lined both externally and internally with thinly interwoven wire and are designed to be worn while operating a chainsaw. These items of clothing are designed to halt a blade as it hits the wire, whether externally or internally, perhaps preventing a tragic accident.

Chainsaw maintenance

The amount of maintenance required for your chainsaw is wholly reliant on how frequently you use it. If you use your chainsaw every week, you may find that some maintenance tasks should be done before each use. A gas-powered chainsaw will require more maintenance regardless of frequency because there are more elements to check before using your chainsaw. To ensure safety, gauges, air intake, and exhaust ports must be clean, and all screws and nuts must be tightened.

An oiler is also required to keep the moving parts lubricated. Chainsaw Oil is specifically developed for the lubrication of chain and guide bars of modern chain saws. Selected mineral base oils are combined with special additives to provide good protection against wear, rust and corrosion. Chainsaw Oil has good low-temperature flow properties which makes it suitable for outside applications even during the winter season.

Electric chainsaw will still requires maintenance before use, as the starter, exhaust output ports, and all nuts and bolts should be fully checked before use. Regardless of the model of chainsaw you purchase, it is crucial to realize that the chain and blade on your chainsaw may dull over time, whether due to age or use. Always check the sharpness (safe manner) of your blade and chain, as a dull blade may bounce off what you're cutting and send the chain flying into yourself, another person, or something else.

Chainsaw sharpeners

Chainsaw sharpeners can quickly and effectively repair the cutting edge of your chainsaw while saving you time and money.

Since the days of chainsaw files, chainsaw sharpeners have made great strides. Hand-powered or electric, bar-mounted or wall-mounted, and manual or hydraulic help are all alternative options. The possibilities are limitless.

Stihl chainsaw and Husqvarna chainsaw are one of the most popular chainsaws in the world. You can find prices and models on the web.
